The owners of this
Mediterranean Revival home wanted to improve the family entrance into
the home and create a garden room adjacent to the kitchen family room,
for informal entertaining. A major challenge would be to precisely match
the existing historical details in the new conservatory. Everything from
copper scuppers with intricate copper medallions, the detailing of brick
arches, and the cut-stone details over custom made spiral pilasters,
reinforce the authenticity of this historic property. The rough
carpentry crew met several challenges as they carried out the details of
this design. Since the room was primarily framed by windows, and the
ceiling structure had to support the 10 X10 foot skylight, precise and
accurate framing needed to be maintained. The craftsmanship and the need
to replicate quality is evident throughout this wonderful project.
