2005 Best Deck/Porch

The deck for this 1930’s Spanish style home is a deck project in the broadest sense, and actually containing many projects. The trellis consists of posts bolted to the exterior of the floor system with decorative cut 2 X 10 cedar boards. The railing is mounted similarly since no penetration of the patio was possible. Step Stone concrete pavers were used for the patio surface. They used terracotta and grey colors to add interest and blend with the Spanish design. A four foot tall fence was placed at the alley side of the deck to provide privacy. Summer plants are grouped against the privacy fence to create a beautiful backdrop for entertaining or just relaxing.
