The proud owners of a landmark 1860’s era Itailanate home desired to improve their daily ingress and egress experience. But in the owner also did not want to destroy the character of the home. The design solution lie in providing a “hyphen”: a functional daily entry/mud room breezeway connector linking the main house with a new garage and in-law suite above. Detailing in trim, ornament and form was gleaned from the existing home and faithfully incorporated into the new addition.
