Remodel
The existing enclosed
porch was in need of new windows and flooring, but was also too hot in
the summer and too cold in the winter for any type of use. The owners
were also concerned with the curb appeal of their home. The answer was a
new entry porch.
Several challenges presented themselves. They needed to work with the
existing structure and rooflines, and there was a five foot height
differential from the grade to the front door. The grade was raised in
the front yard and they tied into the existing rooflines by hand framing
the new roof trusses and overhangs. Custom built columns, and ceilings
with bead board and crown moldings were designed for warmth and style.
ironwood decking and custom lighting added the right finishing touches.
Along with the professionally designed landscaping, this home went from
ordinary to extraordinary.
