The goal was to turn an existing 1960's kitchen into the millennium as a new gourmet kitchen. The kitchen layout was focused around the breakfast table and elevated countertop seating, with views beyond to the pool and adjacent countryside. The walk-in pantry in the corner of the kitchen set the layout for the central island, with the cook top and sink facing the adjacent pool area. The elevated counter allows guests to participate in conversation with the cook. The overall appearance is very pleasing with a subtle mix of cherry cabinetry, Indian slate flooring, and tropic brown granite countertops mixed with commercial grade stainless steel appliances.
