The client had lived in
the home for the past eight years and knew that certain changes were
necessary to keep the house up to date and consistent with the other
remodeling that was taking place in the neighborhood. Part of the new
plan was to join the main house with a detached garage located on the
adjacent lot in a contemporary style. The objective was to establish a
unique architecture that was different from anything found in this
region of Florida. Different materials were introduced to maintain the
contemporary style. A comfortable and spacious flow was established from
room to room focusing on creating one large, central are for cooking,
dining and entertaining. The desire for beauty, as well as function, was
emphasized.
