The couple living in this 1980’s tract home longed to add some pizzazz to their dull kitchen. The poor layout hindered both food preparation and posed challenges when entertaining guests. The dull oak cabinetry, outdated appliances and drab color palette further added to the cookie cutter feel of this kitchen. A complete re-design of the existing kitchen provided a functional layout for both cooking and hosting guests. The awkward peninsula and small island were replaced by a spacious island that comfortably seats four guests. Special framing and crown mold detail were used above the upper cabinets to eliminate any gaps between the cabinets and the vaulted ceiling.
